British GT Championship

The British GT Championship has remained one of the UK’s premier national categories of racing for over 30 years. It is a sports car racing series based predominantly in the United Kingdom.

The concept of the GT car (grand tourer) emerged from Europe, with the goal of being both a high performance automobile and a long-distance driver, the GT cars live up to their grand tourer moniker. Hallmarks of GT cars include a near-seamless merging of luxury and performance and a 2+2 design (cars in the 2+2 category have two front seats and two rear seats. Other common characteristics for 2+2 cars include relatively little room for the rear passengers and a coupé body with two doors. Convertibles and targa top cars are often considered 2+2 vehicles).
